Troubleshooting One Technics Earbud Has No Sound

If one earbud of your Technics earbuds is not producing sound, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Check Bluetooth® Connection

  • Confirm that the earphones and Bluetooth® device are connected correctly.
  • Verify that music or audio is actively playing on your Bluetooth® device.
  • Ensure the earbuds are not out of range from the Bluetooth® device (keep within the typical 10m/33ft range, with no obstructions).

2. Confirm Earbud Status

  • Power On: Ensure that both earbuds are powered on.
  • Volume Level: Check that the volume is not set too low on the Bluetooth® device or the earbuds.
  • Battery Levels: Verify that both earbuds have sufficient charge. Place them in the charging case for at least 10 minutes to ensure proper charging.

3. Reset the Earbuds

Performing a reset can often fix connectivity issues: This process varies by model refer to article How to reset Technicsfor more reset instructions.

Reset example

  1. Place both earbuds in the charging case.
  2. Close the lid of the case and wait for at least 10 seconds.
  3. Open the case and check if the earbuds reconnect and start functioning normally.

4. Reconnect via Bluetooth®

  • Unpair the earbuds from the Bluetooth® device and perform a fresh connection:
    • Open your device's Bluetooth® settings and remove the Technics earbuds from the paired devices list.
    • Follow the Operating Manual steps to pair the earbuds again (refer to “Connecting to Bluetooth” in the manual).
    • Ensure the earbuds are properly synced with each other and the device.

5. Verify Bluetooth® Profiles

  • Ensure your Bluetooth® device supports the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), which transmits audio to the earbuds.
  • For remote control functions (play, pause, etc.), your device should also support the AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
  • Check your Bluetooth® device’s operating manual for compatibility.

6. Inspect for Physical Blockages

  • Clean the audio output grilles on the earbuds to remove dirt, earwax, or debris that may block sound.
  • Use a soft, dry cloth or a gentle cleaning tool for this purpose.
  • Refer to article How to clean my earbudsfor more cleaning instructions.

7. Check Firmware Version

  • Connect your earbuds to the Technics Audio Connect App and ensure they are updated to the latest firmware version.
  • Firmware updates often resolve performance issues and improve connectivity.
  • Refer to article How to update the firmwarefor more cleaning instructions.

8. Test with Another Device

  • Connect your earbuds to another Bluetooth® device to check if the issue persists. This will help identify if the problem is with the earbuds or the original device.

9. Advanced Troubleshooting: Single Earbud Not Working

  • If only one earbud is working, place both earbuds in the charging case and ensure they are seated properly. Misalignment can prevent one earbud from syncing or charging.
  • Remove both earbuds and check if the LED indicators flash correctly. Refer to your models Operating Manual for LED indicators

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue of one earbud having no audio.
