Media Server and Contents Are Not Displayed - Technics

Problem: The connected media server and its contents are not displayed on your Technics system.

Possible Causes and Solutions

1. Media Server Indexing

Cause: The media server may still be indexing newly added content, causing it to be temporarily unavailable.

Solution: Wait a few minutes and try accessing the server again. Ensure that the server has completed indexing its contents.

2. Unsupported Media Formats

Cause: The media files on the server may be in a format not supported by the Technics system.

Solution: Verify that the media files are in a compatible format (e.g., MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV). Refer to the Operating Manual for a list of supported file formats.

3. Network Connection Issues

Cause: The network connection between the Technics system and the media server may be weak or interrupted.

Solution:

  • Check that both the Technics system and the media server are connected to the same network.
  • Ensure that the network signal is strong and stable.
  • Restart the router, media server, and Technics system to refresh the connection.

4. Media Server Compatibility

Cause: Some media servers may not be fully compatible with the Technics system or may require additional configuration.

Solution: Refer to the media server's operating instructions to ensure proper setup and compatibility. Check if any updates or patches are available for the media server software.

5. Media Server Sharing Settings

Cause: The media server’s sharing settings may not allow the Technics system to access its contents.

Solution:

  • Verify that media sharing is enabled on the server.
  • Ensure the Technics system is added as an allowed device in the media server’s sharing settings.

6. Large Media Library

Cause: A large media library may cause delays in loading or displaying content on the Technics system.

Solution:

  • Organize the media library into smaller, manageable folders.
  • Reduce the number of files or folders shared at once to improve performance.

7. Firmware Updates

Cause: Outdated firmware on the Technics system may prevent proper communication with the media server.

Solution: Check for firmware updates on the Technics system using the Global Support Site and install them if available.

Additional Tips

  • Restart Devices: Restart the Technics system and media server to resolve temporary glitches.
  • Test the Media Server: Test the media server by connecting it to another compatible device to ensure it is functioning properly.
  • Use Wired Connections: If issues persist over Wi-Fi, consider connecting the media server and Technics system using wired LAN connections for improved stability.

By addressing these potential causes and following the solutions, you should be able to resolve issues with media server contents not being displayed on your Technics system. For additional assistance for your model consult the Operating Manual.
